Restless

This restlessness has an ephemeral
quality. Beneath the surface, it
will not come up for air like a fish
that swims underwater, comfortable
in the oxygen-rich environment.

It swims around and around the
pond, unwary of the storm it causes
above the water,
unwary of the wind that
threatens to upend the pond,
unwary of the rain that will
flood the surroundings,
fish and all.
