‘Malaya means free.’

Malaya means free. But what does freedom really mean? There is a tendency to talk of freedom as a concept that can be taken out of context. But the truth is, you cannot. We are all, in some way or another, shackled: To debts, to a dead-end job, to an unsustainable lifestyle, etc. Because that is how our world is now. But that doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. Joining the struggle to be free frees us.

May we keep this in mind as we celebrate Easter today. A liberating Easter to us all!
